1997 Ibanez JS700 Custom Legend
Reasonably nice guitar, didn’t keep it for long. Got it in a trade with a Jetter overdrive pedal for a really nice Godin Telecaster. Probably should’ve kept the Godin if I’m honest but there we go. That joins the long list.
The JS700 played ok, neck reasonably slim with a broad flat fretboard. P90s sounded nice and warm. Liked the angled, recessed jack plug socket.
If I’m honest it felt like a guitar that just didn’t really sit into the niche that it was trying to create. A shred guitar with P90s and a wraparound bridge…..yeah it might not have been done before at that point, but that doesn’t mean it’s fucking needed…
I’m being a tad harsh, there’s some nice design gone into this as you would expect from Ibanez Japan. The body is really well contoured and the cutaway/neck heel area is great.
Bottom line…it’s just not a very exciting guitar.
When I came to sell this I’d had it up for weeks with very little interest. I lost my patience with it a little and offered in the Facebook groups for as low as £300…and the weekend I did that it went and sold for £468 on eBay haha!
Came and left like this, “I never touched it guv”
Good condition for it’s age, only a couple of small dings here and there. Everything was factory spec on it.
